Our House System
The students of Sunflower Vedic School are divided into four sub-units called ‘HOUSES’. It is an integral and vibrant part of the school's culture, designed to reflect and enhance the values of Sunflower Vedic School. Every student who joins the School is allocated to one house and he or she is a member of that ‘house’ from Class I onwards. In order to create a sense of healthy competition and for the overall development of the students, SVS will regularly organize sports and other cocurricular activities and also ensure participation of every student from the four Houses. Each House will be identified by its own color and name and the House uniform (color uniform) is a part of the dress code of the students for PT. The following are the Houses, named after the great characters from the Mahabharata
Bhishma The Supreme Commander:
One of the most revered personalities and strongest character of the great Indian epic, the Mahabharata. He is the personification of an unparalleled leader and mature wisdom. The color Red is the symbol of life and vitality, brings focus in action, promotes will power with increased enthusiasm and confidence.
Arjuna The Master Archer:
Arjuna means shining bright. He was known for his steadfastness and single mindedness in pursuing his goals The color Blue, the coolest color of the sky and ocean symbolizes inspiration, sincerity and morality, broadens the child’s perspective in learning methods.
Karna An outstanding philanthropist:
Karna, born with the grace of Lord Surya. One of the most loved characters of the Mahabharata, an intelligent and pristine warrior who always displayed his sense of sacrifice, generosity and loyalty. The color Yellow like the Sun is pure, bright and always radiating. Yellow symbolizes wisdom, represents joy and happiness. Yellow promotes sharper memory and concentration skills.
Ekalavya- The immaculate student
Ekalavya was an archer of exceptional prowess, a brave, handsome boy who was renowned for his noble qualities of love and sacrifice. Ekalavya demonstrated to the world of how a student could successfully achieve his goal if he has determination and sincerity in his work with faith and respect in his Master. Green is the color of nature; life. Green symbolizes dignity, learning, growth and harmony. Green contains the powerful energies of nature, a desire to expand or increase and the freedom to pursue new ideas.
