SVS adopts and adapts the CBSE philosophy through a skill-based, content driven curriculum. The school strives for a balance between the search for understanding, the acquisition of essential knowledge and skills, the development of positive attitudes and the opportunity for positive action. The pedagogy is streamlined to bring in the 4 C's of learning: Critical thinking, Creativity, Communication & Collaboration, to make learning meaningful, engaging and productive. It also emphasizes academic excellence through innovative learning methodologies through student-friendly and student-centric paradigms by adding a new dimension via Interdisciplinary Teaching, responsive Classroom Ethos, Project Based Learning, Art and ICT Integration etc. SVS is committed to structured, purposeful inquiry, which provides multiple entry points, meeting the diverse needs of students and involving them actively in their own learning.

Pre primary Level:

Learning starts at the Pre-Primary level .SVS has a blend of 5 Skills (Fine Motor,Gross Motor,Auditory Discrimination, sensorial and Montessori Skills along with experiential learning. Learning by doing is the key method coupled with individual attention makes all the difference. The Program and Activities for Vedicians have been designed to develop inspiring minds and healthy bodies.

THESE INCLUDE:

Sensorial activities: Encourage children to use their senses to explore the world around them.

Language Concepts: Help children develop a love for books and reading and develop pre writing and writing skills through use of stories and themes.

Numerical Concepts: Which are taught thorugh a hands-on,practical approach so that fundamentals concepts are preparely understood.

Play-based learning activities: Such as dramatic play,creative play and play with sand and water.

Science and nature studies: Provide children with an oppurtunity to make their own investigations and carry out simple experiments.

Creative activities: Help our students develop their creative side through different art and craft media,through music and drama.

Physical development activities: Help in the development of strength,balance,stamina,and cordination.

Primary Level:

Primary years are immensely essential as they lay the foundation for language, literacy, Numeracy and life skills. Children are born with natural curiosity & inquisitiveness so, it is very important to quench their needs and make the learning in Primary years enjoyable, exciting and distress free.

At Sunflower Vedic School ,Primary Level (Class-I to V) our curriculum has been mapped out to sound pedagogy and latest technologies with the purpose of facilitating Scholastic and co-scholastic skills. We recognize the need for an individualised curriculum. After careful planning and thorough research, SvS has designed its annual curriculum to be a road map of the learning and teaching process that will take place in an entire academic session.

Primary Classrooms are designed and equipped with projectors, innovative teaching modules etc. to make the learning alive and interesting. Students are exposed to a wide range of latest teaching aids and the activities are planned to meet out the challenge of the primary years. We encourage students for integrated and thematic activity-based teaching for each subject. Experiential learning and co-curricular activities allowing every child the freedom to find his / her areas of strengths and interests.

Middle Level:

The middle schooling at SVS aims to develop positive attitudes and beliefs in its students. The planning is laid down in ways that increases the academic perseverance of the students and prompts them to engage in productive behaviours including setting and meeting goals, doing quality work, and seeing it through to completion by seeking support and solutions to overcome obstacles.

SVS nurtures each child’s interest through hands-on experience, research of inquiries that are driven to ignite the child’s imagination and to have an interdisciplinary approach in all the academic planning.

Secondary School Level

Secondary School Level: In grades 9 and 10, the curriculum is designed to build a robust understanding of Mathematics, English, Hindi, Science, and Social Science.The focus is on a broad and balanced study across a wide range of subjects using learner-centred and enquiry-based approaches to learning.Gr 9,10 are the milestone years that builds upon the foundation laid in the grades 6 to 8. We are aligned to the latest education practices and designed to meet the needs of today’s global learners.We are not limited to textbook learning alone – instead, our experiential curriculum provides hands-on learning, imparts macro concepts, encourages free expression of self and develops creative and critical thinking faculties.

This requires students to think more critically and independently as they work towards high performance in their board exams.
